A brand-new baseball glove fights you. A properly broken-in glove obeys you. Our professional break-in service uses conditioning oil, mechanical pressing, and mallet work to build a game-ready pocket in days — no steam, no shortcuts, leather done right.

Why No Steaming?
Steam forces open leather fibers with heat and moisture, accelerating breakdown and causing padding to droop toward the fingers over time. We use professional conditioning oil and mechanical press shaping — your glove gets broken in properly without sacrificing its long-term structure or longevity.

Our Break-In Process

  1. Intake Inspection — We inspect your glove for any pre-existing wear or damage and note your order preferences
  2. Deep Conditioning — Professional leather conditioning oil worked into all surfaces, laces, and palm by hand
  3. Mechanical Press Shaping — Controlled press shaping to form the pocket structure and break the hinge
  4. Mallet Work — Targeted mallet work to deepen and define the pocket to your specified style
  5. Hand Shaping — Final hand forming to your position and pocket preference (SS/2B tight pocket or OF/3B/P deeper pocket)
  6. Seal & Protect — Final conditioning pass to seal the leather and protect your investment

What to Include in Your Order Notes

When you check out, leave a note with your preferences so we can shape your glove exactly right:

  • Throwing Hand — Right-Hand Thrower (RHT) or Left-Hand Thrower (LHT)
  • Pocket Style — Shallow/Two-finger (SS/2B style), Medium (all-purpose), or Deep (OF/P/3B style)
  • Wearing Style — Traditional (all fingers in), Finger Out (index out back), or Two In Pinky (pinky & ring in last slot)
  • Closure Style — Closed (tight wrap) or Open (wide, basket catch feel)
  • Any Special Requests — specific position, league, or feel preferences
