Ready to send your bat in for professional rolling? Packing your bat correctly ensures it arrives undamaged and gets processed without delay. Here's exactly how to do it.
What You'll Need
- A sturdy tube or box (bat shipping tube preferred)
- Bubble wrap or foam padding
- Packing tape
- A printed or handwritten order confirmation
Step 1: Choose the Right Box
The ideal packaging is a dedicated bat shipping tube — a long cardboard or plastic cylinder designed specifically for bats. These are available at sporting goods stores and online for $5-15. If you don't have one, a standard cardboard box that is at least 36 inches long and wider than the barrel works fine.
Important: Never ship a bat in a thin soft bag with no rigid protection. The bat can be bent or crushed in transit.
Step 2: Wrap the Bat
Wrap the entire bat in bubble wrap — at least two full layers. Pay special attention to the barrel end cap and the knob. These are the most vulnerable points. Use tape to secure the bubble wrap so it doesn't shift in transit.
Step 3: Pad the Box
Place a layer of packing material (crumpled paper, foam, or additional bubble wrap) at the bottom and top of the tube or box. The bat should not move or rattle when you shake the package.
Step 4: Include Your Order Info
Place a printed copy of your order confirmation inside the box. Include your name, contact email or phone, and the specific service(s) requested. This is how we match your bat to your order when it arrives.
Step 5: Seal and Label
Seal all openings with reinforced packing tape. Apply your shipping label flat and secure it with clear tape on all edges. Double-check the address — our processing facility is in Prosper, TX. The full shipping address is on your order confirmation email.
Which Carrier Should You Use?
We recommend UPS or FedEx for bat shipping. Both offer tracking, reasonable rates, and will handle a 36-inch package without issues. USPS Priority Mail also works if your box fits their size requirements. We do not recommend USPS First Class for bat shipments due to limited tracking and less careful handling.
Add shipping insurance for bats valued over $150. It's usually $1-3 and worth it for peace of mind.
Turnaround Time
Once we receive your bat, standard rolling orders are processed and shipped back within 3-5 business days. You'll receive a confirmation email when your order is processed and tracking information when it ships.
What We Don't Accept
- Bats with existing cracks or structural damage
- One-piece aluminum bats (rolling is for composite bats only)
- Bats with loose or rattling end caps
